about

Ever since the legendary Saturday Live skit with Christopher Walken and Will Ferrell, everybody knows there is only one prescription: More Cowbell! So The Weight did just that and came up with a heavy drum groove and even more cowbell to open their brand new single called „Operator“ from their upcoming 2nd full length album „IN CONTROL“ (spring 2020). Boebel's Telecaster sound is right out of a late 70ies' New York Groove record and Moosbrugger's bass line is something James Jamerson would have danced to. Let's just say: this song is the most danceable song The Weight came up with to date. Eventually, the „jaggeresque“ attitude singer Jussel underlines the message Ozzy Osbourne always wanted us to know: "Let's go fucking crazy!"

lyrics

When you get up in the morning
And you feel a little spleen
You can't find a trace of purpose
On your color TV screen

You gotta stay cool
Just follow the rules
Like all the hip folks do
You gonna see it trough

So when you're sitting 'round in circles
Stop staring at the floor
You better call the operator
It's 1096784

You gotta stay cool
Just follow the rules
He must be on his way
Ready to save the day

The operator
The operator

Give it a try
Send me a smile
It might come back around

Kick off your shoes
Stop singing the blues
And turn it upside down
